FAQs About the TSA Lock on the Duravo Carry-Ons

When traveling, it is important to ensure your belongings are secure yet accessible to airport security. One of the key features of the Duravo International Expandable Carry-on and the Front Pocket Expandable Carry-on Plus  are their TSA locks, designed to provide peace of mind while complying with airport security regulations. In this blog post, we’ll answer some frequently asked questions about our TSA lock.

What is a TSA Lock?

A TSA lock is a special type of luggage lock approved by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for use on checked and carry-on baggage. These locks can be opened by TSA agents using a master key, allowing them to inspect the contents of your bag without damaging the lock or the luggage itself. The TSA lock on the Duravo carry-on is designed with both security and convenience in mind, ensuring that only you and authorized TSA agents can access your belongings.

Why Are TSA Locks Necessary?

TSA locks are essential for several reasons. First, they comply with TSA regulations. This means that if your luggage needs to be inspected, TSA agents can do so without having to break your lock. This minimizes the risk of damage to your luggage and ensures that your belongings remain secure during and after the inspection. Secondly, TSA locks deter theft, as they are more challenging to tamper with compared to standard locks. The Duravo carry-on’s TSA lock is particularly robust, offering an added layer of security for your valuables.

How Do I Open My Lock for the First Time?

Opening the lock is simple. It just requires sliding the round lock towards the combination. For the first time, make sure the combo is set to all 0's and push/slide the lock to release the zipper pullers!

How Do I Set My TSA Lock Combination?

  1. Set the lock combination to the default “000”.
  2. Insert the zipper pullers back into lock.
  3. Use a pen tip or thin metal object to push the lock set/reset button inward until it clicks into place.
  4. Set the combination for a 3-digit number you can easily remember (make sure you write it down somewhere!).
  5. Slide the round key lock button toward the arrow to release the zipper pulls and the set button pops up. You're all set!
  6. To change your combination again- Insert the zippers back into the lock. Set the combo to the current code.  Press the set/reset button.  Set the new combo code.  Slide the lock key toward the arrow.  The zippers and the set/reset will pop.  You're all set with the new code!
