What is Duravo Flexshell?

Duravo Flexshell is a revolutionary composite material made from woven thermoplastic polymers.  Developed for anti-ballistic applications, the Flexshell composite material has excellent strength and superior impact resistance.  Compared to luggage made from Polycarbonate or aluminum, Flexshell allows Duravo to make strong, durable luggage that is significantly lighter.

How is Duravo made?

Duravo Flexshell™ material is made in Germany by the same producers of Curv® composite material used in anti-ballistics and sport applications.  Flexshell is made by combining woven layers of thermoplastic polymer with heat and pressure.

Is Duravo Recyclable?

Duravo shell material is fully recyclable where polypropylene is recycled

How to manage scratches and scuffs?

Scratches and scuffs on the Flexshell surface from routine luggage handling can be minimized or eliminated by wiping with  “magic eraser” type melamine foam sponge and some water.

Does Flexshell Stop Bullets?

No, the Flexshell composite material does not provide anti-ballistic properties on its own. When combined with anti-ballistic material such as aramid fiber (Kevlar®), its amazing impact resistance allows it to minimize the bruising and bone-breaking experienced when soft armor is hit with projectiles. The new Duravo Anti-ballistic Backpack combines Flexshell with bullet-stopping aramid fabric layers to provide NIJ Level 3A ballistics protection in a relatively lightweight, functional and attractive package.

Do Duravo suitcases and backpacks have a built in USB charging battery? Do batteries need to be removed for airline check-in?

Duravo suitcases and backpacks do not have built-in batteries, but have storage pockets and access ways to allow you to use your personal powerbank for charging.  Lithium Ion batteries typically used for charging electronic devices need to be removed from luggage prior to check-in on most airlines.
